Aprilynne Pike is the #1 New York Times best-selling author of Wings, the first of four books about a fifteen-year-old girl named Laurel who discovers she's a faerie and it's nothing like the storybooks say. Stephenie Meyer (author of Twilight) noted that "Aprilynne Pike's Wings is a remarkable debut; the ingenuity of the mythology is matched only by the startling loveliness with which the story unfolds." The Walt Disney Company optioned the film rights to Wings, with Miley Cyrus attached to star as Laurel.

Bonus Question(s) that Didn't Air on the Live Radio Show
Matthew Peterson:
Alright, so the bonus question: Ok so you said your faeries kind of have like some sort of magic powers and they don’t know how to control them. If you had a power, what would it be and why?
Aprilynne Pike:
Well, with my faeries, you fall into one of four sets of powers because their powers are associated with the season that they are born in. And I would be a summer faery who does illusions, because they are in charge of all the entertainment and the theater and I would love to do that. I’ve been doing theater since I was like 5. And so I would totally be a summer faery and do theater in that form.
Matthew Peterson:
Good! Well, that’s cool.
